Carlos Reutemann was airlifted to Rosario hospital this Saturday, May 8 after health complications, including a new digestive hemorrhage.

Reutemann's health worsens

The Santa Hospital Clinic Coordinator Fe (Argentina) released a new health bulletin concerning Carlos Reutemann, this Saturday, May 8. The 79-year-old former Argentine pilot and senator suffered complications in recent hours.

In fact, the 1981 Formula vice-world champion had to be transferred by helicopter to the Parc hospital in Rosario, located nearly 200 km from the Santa Fe clinic, where he had been admitted to intensive care in an environment week.

“Today, and in view of the evidence of a new episode of digestive hemorrhage and the hemodynamic failure (collapse) of Carlos Reutemann, with a tendency to lower blood pressure and worsen biochemical parameters, it has been decided to transfer him to the Parque de la Ciudad de Rosario Hospital for further analyzes and adequate treatment”, explains Doctor Sebastian del Pazo.

 

This bulletin unfortunately comes contradict yesterday's news, reporting adequate blood circulation and an absence of digestive bleeding. The man with 12 Grand Prix successes, converted to politics in the 1980s with two terms as governor of Santa Fe and national senator since 2003, was reduced by liver cancer in 2017. He had to go to New York (United States) for a major surgical procedure.
