14. This is the number of points that have separated Ferrari a first Constructors' title in 16 years. This battle which continued until the last Grand Prix of the season in Abu Dhabi was won by McLaren, back at the top of the rankings for the first time since 1998.

An encouraging result for the Scuderia all the same which confirms its recovery since the arrival of Frédéric Vasseur at its head in 2023, also carried by the duo Charles Leclerc-Carlos Sainz. Nevertheless, the small gap appears as an internal frustration as the Reds let a few opportunities slip by which ended up costing them dearly when the time came to do the accounts.

However, the French director of Ferrari was pleased to have succeeded in " take a huge step forward " in 2024 thanks to its drivers, regularly in the fight for the big points. Now, it is a question of confirming in 2025 when Maranello will open its doors to Lewis Hamilton.

« This means we have to make an extra effort next year., continues the person concerned. In order to gain a few tenths, to have better reliability, to do everything better, because we have to improve everywhere. But I think we are on the right track. The team is motivated and we are starting to prepare for 2025.. » The tone is set.

No regrets in my opinion. The victories in Austin and Mexico were offered on a plate by Verstappen who preferred to let the Ferraris pass than see Norris score too many points. Without this providential help, McLaren would have won the constructors' title more easily, and Ferrari would have had to battle with RBR for 2nd place. As for next year, will the Hamilton-Leclerc duo be easy to manage?
