Carlos Sainz’s unexpected 6th place

Saturday started in the worst possible way for Carlos Sainz. A few hours before the start of qualifying, the Spaniard hit the wall in the banking of turn 3.

The mechanics of Ferrari worked hard to allow the driver to participate in qualifying. “ It was crazy, admitted Carlos Sainz. Seeing all the mechanics working at this pace to allow me to go on track is one of the most impressive things I have seen as a driver. Everyone was focused on my car to get everything ready. This place is for them ».
Carlos Sainz was proud of the work accomplished: “ An accident always takes away a little confidence. The first minutes of Q1 were stressful because we didn't know if I was going to race. Finally, we managed to get through to Q3 and I missed the top 5 by a few hundredths, so it was a good comeback. We must be proud of the work accomplished »
Carlos Sainz does not intend to stop there, he hopes to achieve a good result in the race to reward their work.
