Caterham Racing Academy launched

Like Ferrari, Caterham now also has its driver academy. The “Caterham Racing Academy”, that is its name, has officially been launched this Wednesday, June 5. If the team already had a development program for young people since 2010, this new structure aims to be more extensive, more complete, and already includes six drivers, all from different backgrounds. We find there, unsurprisingly, Alexander Red, the American reserve at Caterham who will participate this Friday in a free practice session with the team. But also and above all Aurélien Panis, Olivier's son, currently involved in Formula Renault Eurocup 2.0. Sergio Canamasas, Matt Parry, Weiron Tan and Daim Hishamuddin will also be there.

“Within this academy we have an environment that gives young drivers a clear path, from the junior series to the F1 », Explain Cyril Abiteboul, the main team of the Caterham F1 Team. “However, just as importantly, we will arm our drivers with all the attributes needed in this modern era: physical and mental preparation, direct exposure to Formula 1, and, important for everyone, financial assistance . For our team, it is a way to continue our ongoing research for our future crews and investing in several drivers gives us a greater margin of options for the future?, explains the Frenchman.
