The team Red Bull was born from the ashes of Jaguar. With Adrian Newey as technical director, the team led by Chirstian Horner patiently developed its single-seaters until they were almost unbeatable cars with Sebastian Vettel driving. For Mark Webber, Vettel's teammate between 2009 and 2013, the key to the Austrians' success lies in the stability of the working environment. “The policy applied by Red Bull is to have as few personnel and driver changes as possible. Carry out regular technical changes in Formula 1 probably penalizes you more than in football, so it?s something ineffective. On paper, apart from Adrian Newey, Red Bull did not start in Formula 1 with big names on its technical staff. Their philosophy was not to recruit engineers from other teams but to start from scratch. » explains the Australian. “Today, many of the people who work at Red Bull are courted by the competition. But a large part of this team's success is due to these men in the shadows. »
Remember, however, that Red Bull has lost several important members of its technical staff. Mark Ellis, Performance Director, and Giles Wood, Chief Engineer, will join Mercedes from June 2014. Head of aerodynamics Peter Prodromou will join Woking and the team McLaren when his contract with the Austrian team ends in 2015.
