The latest from BMW

If the paddock will celebrate a first this weekend with a Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, it will also be an opportunity for BMW to bid farewell to the Formula 1. So obviously, the whole team wants to finish on a positive note and confirm after Robert Kubica?s second place at Interlagos a fortnight ago.

« Thanks to the eight points we acquired in Brazil, we moved up one position in the Manufacturers' standings », notes Mario Theissen, team director. “ We will be just as motivated for the last race of the season where we can't wait to race. »

« There will of course be great sadness within the team, after all, it will be our 70th and last race », he adds before taking stock of these four years. “ Except for our fourth and unfortunately final season, I am more than satisfied with what we have achieved since 2006. The first three years, the team achieved all the objectives it had set for itself, it achieved them. even outdated »

Taken over by a Swiss foundation, the team will however continue next season with new faces. “ I wish my successors that they continue this victorious path in F1? concludes the German leader.
