F1 will now have its “Grid Kids”

After announcing the removal of grid girls from the Grands Prix, Liberty Media, the organizer of the World Championship, communicated on the implementation of “Grid Kids”.

As its name suggests, this new formula will allow young enthusiasts to attend the pre-race ceremonies on the Grand Prix starting grids.

Liberty Media will work with event promoters and national sporting authorities to select a young audience who will be selected on merit in motorsport clubs or by lottery and who will already be engaged in karting or in promotional formulas.

“It will be an extraordinary moment for these young people. They will be able to see their heroes prepare for the race, this elite among the elite of motorsport, and spend precious minutes with them before the start, comments Sean Bratches, the director of commercial operations of the F1. It will be an unforgettable experience for them and their families. It will be an inspiration to push them to continue flying, training and learning in order to dream of one day being one of them. What better way is there to inspire the next generation of F1 heroes? »

Grid Kids will also be present at most races F2 and GP3 Series.
