F1 needs multiple winners for Wolff

For two seasons, Mercedes et Lewis Hamilton unquestionably dominate the Formula 1. The shift from V6 turbo/hybrid Power Units was perfectly negotiated by the engineers of the star, allowing the Briton to win two new world crowns. Undivided domination, despite the opposition of Ferrari this season, which nevertheless poses certain problems in terms of interest in the races. Which perfectly recognizes Toto wolff, boss of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

“Our dominance is bad for F1, confesses the Austrian in a long interview with the Daily Mail. This makes running boring. The result becomes very predictable. Sport needs many winners. The moment you become a dominant force, you suffer and your brand suffers. You become the dark side of the force.

If you become “the establishment,” people will have animosity toward you. So our dominance is bad for Formula One and is bad for us, but what can I do about it? The only thing you can do is stay humble, keep both feet on the ground, recognize that these are special circumstances and that it might be different in the future and try to enjoy the moment. »
