While a world championship title is once again preparing to be decided on the Yas Marina circuit, the F1 takes the opportunity to confirm the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as the final round of its calendar until 2030! The contract linking the premier category of motorsport to Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (ADMM) has just been renewed.

Present on the F1 calendar since 2009, the UAE round has always closed the season and will continue to do so for the next nine years. In 2014, Abu Dhabi even witnessed a strange, and to say the least unique, rule which awarded twice as many points as usual for the last meeting of the year. An idea not kept the following season.

On the occasion of a new meeting of the highest importance, the Yas Marina route has also made some modifications, in three areas in particular: the turn 7 hairpin, the south marina (from the turn 11) and the section passing in front of the hotel (from turn 17):

“We are delighted to confirm that we will race in Abu Dhabi until 2030 under this new agreement, said Formula 1 CEO and President Stefano Domenicali. We look forward to the final round of the season this weekend, which will make Formula 1 history."

“The promoter, ADMM, always creates an incredible spectacle for the final race of each F1 season and, combined with the changes made to improve the racing at the Yas Marina Circuit, we are excited for many years of racing in Abu Dhabi that await us. »

Ah the attraction of petrodollars and the softpower/greenwashing of the Middle East.... Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Wahhabi Arabia, all that's missing is Dubai! When will there be Grand Prix in countries with a real sporting history and automotive culture (Argentina, South Africa, Finland, New Zealand, Sweden, etc.)??
