It’s a Romain Grosjean with his head in the clouds answering questions from his community, aboard his helicopter. The Frenchman, who made his debut in IndyCar in 2021, took a pole position in Saint-Petersburg but was deprived of a first victory following a collision with Scott McLaughlin. And even if his idyll with the American discipline seems to be written under the best auspices, the question of Grosjean's return to Formula 1 remains on the lips of his fans. “ Not at all !, declares the Frenchman when asked if he misses the premier category. I did it for ten years, it was incredible, I was so lucky to have this opportunity to be one of those 20 people in the world. But I don't miss it, I love IndyCar, I have a lot of fun. I'm very happy, it's a different atmosphere, I can fight for a victory every weekend, it's something close to my heart. »

During his 11 years at the top of the pyramid car, Grosjean has signed 10 podiums in 179 starts… but no victory. Through Renault then Lotus, before committing to Haas, the 36-year-old driver has never been able to fight regularly for first places or a championship title. Bouncing back into IndyCar after his terrible accident in 2020, he got off to a flying start with a pole and a podium in his first participation. An environment that better suits the native of Geneva, now residing in Florida (United States).

What if a stable gave him access to a seat? Why not answer Grosjean… if the team is competitive: “ But coming back to come back, no. I was lucky to do this for ten years, but now I want to win races. »

After his disillusionment in St-Pete, the Frenchman will once again have the opportunity to score his first victory in the category in Texas on April 2... with his eyes also fixed on 2024, where he will take his place in the Lamborghini LMDh and Iron Lynx Endurance.
