F1 priority for Nico Hülkenberg

The recent publication of 2016 F1 calendar quickly revealed a conflict of dates between the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan (June 18-19). What to prevent Nico Hulkenberg, winner this year in Sarthe on the Porsche 919 Hybrid that he shared with Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber, to logically defend his title.

The Force India driver gave his views in the Sochi paddock in Russia. « I am engaged in F1, that’s my main goal. Of course it would have been nice to return to Le Mans. It would have been a very busy year. It’s nice to do both, and I think I would have. »

The German also reminds that changes can still occur, and that there is still time before a final decision. “The schedule is there now, but we know there may be changes. Porsche will have a deadline to confirm its drivers, but there is still time. »
