F1 welcomes the awakening of Michael Schumacher

While he gave the start of the 82nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans last weekend, Fernando Alonso learned yesterday that his former opponent Michael Schumacher had come out of a coma and that he was going to continue his rehabilitation following his serious accident in Méribel (Savoie). This news obviously delighted the double world champion. “It’s a good start to the week with this news from Michael. I'm really happy that it's moving in the right direction. »

But the most talkative has been for the moment Lewis Hamilton who replaced the Red Baron at Mercedes last year. “This is fantastic news.”, spoke the 2008 world champion in The Telegraph. “All over the world we were asked how he was, whether in the USA or Canada. I could have been in an oil station, it would have been the same thing. I have always kept him in my thoughts and prayers. It’s very positive to hear that there is progress. I tried to keep an open ear but I wasn't hearing any real progress and it's very encouraging to know that he's really awake. »
