The F2012 seeks support

Nearly a third of the way through the 2012 season, the Italian team currently sits in 3rd position in the Manufacturers' world rankings after scoring 41 of its 86 points in the last two Grands Prix. And although the top speed and traction issues are resolved, the F2012 is still struggling in terms of the aerodynamic downforce that it is supposed to generate in curves. If Ferrari manages to fill this gap, it could become formidable, even in qualifying. However, there is still a lot of work to be done, according to Stefano Domenicali. “ We must not forget that we must always reduce the gap that separates us from the best, admits the Italian team manager. The competition is so tough that we need to continue working hard on developing our car. After each race, we try to catch up as best we can. The most important thing now is to improve our downforce, while maintaining our top speed.."

The Italian team is also planning to make new modifications for the Canadian Grand Prix. Developments which should bring a gain in the slow portions of the circuit. “ We must continue to make changes to each race, insists Domenicali. This championship will be won by the team which will have been able to develop its car throughout the season and which will perfectly understand the behavior of the new Pirelli tires. For now, all our developments seem to be bearing fruit. The following weeks will be important."
