The FIA is looking for a 12th team

The FIA has opened a new program to find a new team interested in the F1, in order to find a 12-team grid in the coming seasons. Proposals must be presented before June 30. Registrations will be open until September 1, while the final decision will be made on September 30.

The selection will be made based on the “long-term interests of the Championship”. The commitment must therefore present a viable project over multiple years, with a file highlighting the capabilities and resources of the team, the experience of the staff and human resources. The FIA clarified that‘no commitment will be accepted without a common agreement of the Federation and the FOM.

The F1 peloton will be made up of 11 teams in 2016 with the arrival of Haas F1 Team.
