FIA withdraws Jules Bianchi's number 17

Since 2014, drivers participating in the World Championship F1 must choose a number that they will keep throughout their career. Jules Bianchi chose No. 17 on his Marussia MR03.

This Monday, on the eve of the funeral of the Nice pilot, who died on the night of Friday July 17 to Saturday July 18, which will take place at the Sainte-Réparate Cathedral in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), Jean Todt, president of the International Federation of l'Automobile, announced that the number 17 would be withdrawn from the F1 World Championship in tribute to the French driver. It can no longer be used on a car competing in the discipline.
