FIA reveals details of future superlicense (MAJ)

The FIA ​​has decided to review the criteria for awarding the superlicense following the arrival of Max Verstappen in Toro Rosso at just 17 years old, becoming the youngest driver in the history of the discipline. Pilots wishing to win the precious sesame will have to from next year be at least 18 years old, have a valid driving license and have acquired sufficient experience in Young Driver Championships.

A points system will be put in place to ensure that the contenders have the necessary level to ride in F1. The results of the different Championships will earn points which will help competitors reach the objective of 40 units collected in three seasons. Rewards will vary depending on the disciplines.

Next Championship F2 : 60 pts (1st), 50 pts (2nd), 40 pts (3rd), 30 pts (4th), 20 pts (5th), 10 pts (6th), 8 pts (7th), 6 pts (8th), 4 pts (9th), 3 pts (10th)

GP2 Series : 50 pts (1st), 40 pts (2nd), 30 pts (3rd), 20 pts (4th), 10 pts (5th), 8 pts (6th), 6 pts (7th), 4 pts (8th), 3 pts (9th), 2 pts (10th)
