The FIA satisfied with its first visit to Austin

Despite numerous rumors of delays, construction of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin is expected to be completed by September 25, the date of the final inspection that the FIA will carry out, 60 days before the United States Grand Prix. Following his visit, Charlie Whiting said he was satisfied with the progress made and announced that he will return at the end of August.

“It is clear that the resources put in place for the Circuit of the Americas will allow the installations to be completed on time and to meet FIA specifications,” Whiting said. “Continued progress is possible with 500 workers on site every day, and I plan to return to Austin at the end of August for another inspection.”

Absent from the calendar since 2007, the United States Grand Prix will make its comeback this year. The Circuit of the Americas, specially built for the occasion, is located in Austin, Texas and could be a success since Sergio Pérez's Mexican supporters are expected in droves for this penultimate event of the season.
