After that of jewels between the FIA ​​and the drivers which has caused so much talk in recent months, here is another episode which should make some more noise in the paddock. This does not concern the International Federation other than the FOM (Formula One Management) and the drivers' track walks.

Routine of each race weekend for the drivers, these reconnaissance walks allow them to get their bearings before the first runs, particularly for the rookies, but also to familiarize themselves with the modifications that may have been made to the track between two editions. . From now on, these will have a very different taste for the rest of the season.

In fact, the FOM has banned all means of transport during track walks. The body thus prohibits the use of bicycles but also electric scooters which have become so common in recent years, particularly to save time for drivers whose schedule is often busy during a race weekend.

While some of them were already doing without certain track walks like Fernando Alonso ou Max Verstappen Depending on the track, this ban could encourage drivers to use video more in the future rather than the real track experience. There you go, there you go…

The FIA ​​really employs far too many people to legislate on such details and would do better to use its resources to simplify all its rules!!
