FOTA satisfied with the Concorde Agreements

The quarrels between the FIA and FOTA seem to have found an epilogue with the signing of the Concorde Agreements. FOTA indicated that it was satisfied with the agreement which had been signed between all the teams of Formula 1, with the exception of BMW which has decided to end its participation in F1, the FIA and the FOA (Formula One Administration) which takes care of the commercial rights of the discipline.

« All Formula 1 teams have managed to reach an agreement of their own, which will allow FOTA to gradually implement its objectives to reduce costs overall, and return to the levels of the early 90s »

For many months, the threats coming from one side and the other greatly disturbed the protagonists of Formula 1. FOTA finally won its case with the retreat of the FIA in the face of its desire to impose, among other things, a capped budget and a two-tier regulation.

Furthermore, the association of F1 teams reiterated its desire to come to the aid of BMW-Sauber. “ FOTA will support any initiative that would allow BMW-Sauber to participate again [in the championship] within the framework of the recent Concorde Agreements. »

Finally, FOTA indicated that it wanted to engage in different projects to increase the interest of the discipline in the long term. To do this, she will now focus her attention on several points: racing on the best circuits, in front of as many people as possible and expanding access to F1.
