Following the attacks made by the FIA in recent days towards FOTA, accusing certain members of doing everything so that no agreement is found, the latter reacted via a letter sent to the FIA from Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone's FOM.
In the latter, of which Reuters obtained a copy, we can read that “ the time has come, in the interests of sport, to reach a compromise and quickly find a conclusion to the prolonged debate concerning the 2010 world championship. »
« We hope that you will consider that this letter represents a significant movement on the part of the teams, all of whom have clearly positioned themselves to commit to the discipline until 2012. It is time to find a reasonable and rapid solution to these incredible problems. »
Furthermore, the teams asked that the deadline granted to find an agreement be extended until July 1 in order to continue negotiations to sign new Concorde Agreements.
