Frustration dominates at Red Bull

Daniel Ricciardo obtained a good result in qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix as he set the third time in Q3, just two tenths behind Nico Rosberg's pole. The pilot Red Bull is nevertheless frustrated, believing that he was able to obtain a place on the front row if the yellow flag following the spin of Fernando Alonso had not put an end to his last attempt.

“We were annoyed by this yellow flag, underlines the Australian. I was pretty upset on that last lap because I was a little ahead and I think I could have gotten closer to pole. I'm a little disappointed with the missed performance, but the session still went well. We performed well in all types of conditions. It was crazy, we had to adapt really quickly. »

Daniel Ricciardo will have to be wary of his teammate Max Verstappen who will start alongside him on the second row after failing less than three tenths behind the first RB12. The Dutchman was not even able to start his last lap after crossing the finish line when the checkered flag had just been presented.

“We want to have space on the track because we lose time if we follow a driver one or two seconds behind, recalls the winner of the Spanish Grand Prix. I just missed a little time, but it wouldn't have made a difference anyway because I wouldn't have been able to improve my time with the yellow flag. My first lap in Q3 wasn't perfect, but otherwise everything worked well. »
