The starting grid for the Bahrain GP

The first Grand Prix of the season is here! This Sunday, the 20 drivers will meet on the Sakhir track (Bahrain) for the opening of the 2021 campaign.

Saturday, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) outrageously dominated the qualifying session, signing the fourth pole of his young career, the second in a row. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) completed the first row just in front of his teammate Valtteri Bottas.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), aboard his SF21, took a nice 4th place ahead of the line Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri). McLaren had a good qualifying session, ranking his two cars in 6th and 7th positions with Daniel Ricciardo before Lando Norris.

Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Fernando Alonso (Alpine) and Lance stroll (Aston Martin) complete the Top 10. Small disappointment on the other hand for Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) only 11th in qualifying this Saturday.

13th on the grid for his big debut, Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) was inserted between the Alfa Romeo by Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Räikkönen.

Esteban Ocon (Alpine), the other Frenchman in the field, is only 16th just behind George Russell (Williams). For its premiere with Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel disappointed and finished 18th, behind the Williams of Nicholas latifi

Only the pilots Haas, Mick Schumacher et Nikita mazepin, did worse than the four-time German world champion on the clock but Vettel then received a 5-place penalty for failing to respect the yellow flags at the end of Q1. The new Aston Martin driver will therefore start dead last.
