The starting grid for the Austrian Grand Prix

The first 2020 qualifications delivered their verdict yesterday afternoon on the Red Bull Spielberg Ring in Austria, with pole position for the Finn Valtteri Bottas.

The pilot Mercedes dominated his teammate Lewis Hamilton, the two W11s showing themselves well above the competition led by Max Verstappen (Red Bull), two-time winner in Styria.

But Lewis Hamilton was penalized for not slowing down sufficiently under yellow flag in Q3, the Briton falling to 5th place behind Lando Norris (McLaren) and Alex Albon (Red Bull Racing).

The big disappointment came from the Team Ferrari. Already in difficulty in free practice, the SF1000s did not shine yesterday, Charles Leclerc starting 7th this Sunday, when Sebastian Vettel will only start 11th after failing to advance to Q3.

In the French clan, Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) will start from 12th place, when Esteban Ocon (Renault) and Romain Grosjean (Haas) will start 14th and 15th.

The race can be followed from 15:10 p.m. live on our website, via our live-text.
