For the 100th time in his career, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) will start from the first position on the starting grid.
In qualifying on Saturday, the reigning world champion claimed her 100th pole after outclassing Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) thanks to a lap completed in 1’16”741.

Very fit in Barcelona due to the progress of their cars, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Esteban Ocon (Alpine) will start 4th and 5th respectively.
Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren), Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), Lando Norris (McLaren) and Fernando Alonso (Alpine) complete the Top 10 of the starting grid.
Only 12th on the grid, Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri) aims to move up the rankings to enter the Top 10 and thus gain some points for the championship.
Last on the grid, Nikita mazepin (Haas) was penalized for hindering Lando Norris in Q1. The Russian received a 3 place penalty on the grid as well as a point on his license.
