The starting grid for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

This Sunday afternoon (14 p.m. in France) the pilots of Formula 1 meet at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi for the last round of the season. For this long-awaited meeting, it is Max Verstappen (Red Bull) who will start from pole position for the 13th time in his career. All eyes will be on this first dream line since the current championship leader will have to defend his position against Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes). Lando Norris (McLaren) will be 3rd on the starting grid, in front Sergio Perez (Red Bull) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari). 

For his last outing with Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) will start from 6th place with behind him Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Yuki tsunoda (Alpha Tauri). First Frenchman on this starting grid, Esteban Ocon (Alpine) is 9th and Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren) completes the top 10.

In 11th position, we find Fernando Alonso (Alpine), followed by Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri) and Lance stroll (Aston Martin). Antonio Giovinazzi, who is competing in his last race with Alfa Romeo, is 14th in front Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) and Nicholas latifi (Williams). His teammate, George Russell is only 17th on the grid and he is ahead of the future retiree, Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo). Mick Schumacher (Haas) brings up the rear and there will only be 19 drivers at the start of this Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since Nikita mazepin must forfeit. The Russian pilot tested positive for Covid-19 and will not be replaced.
