This is the big day ! After dominating qualifying this Saturday, Charles Leclerc will lead the peloton from pole position at Paul-Ricard this weekend. On the starting grid of the French Grand Prix, the driver of the Team Ferrari will have to keep an eye on the drivers Red Bull positioned just behind him and ready to burst out as soon as the lights go out.

In the Var this Sunday, Charles Leclerc will have to do without Carlos Sainz forced to leave back of the grid after accumulating engine penalties. Faced with the Austrian armada, the Monegasque will have to stick together if he wants to contain it in his exhausts throughout this French Grand Prix.

Although 4e on the grid, Lewis Hamilton was ultimately never close to Ferrari and Red Bull. If Mercedes had hope ahead of the French Grand Prix, the Englishman suffered throughout qualifying, even passing two sets of new tires in Q1 to ensure passage to Q2. On the line, the result translated into a gap of almost a second compared to the pole sitter.

In front of their audience, Esteban Ocon et Pierre Gasly were not successful. Much awaited, the Normans ultimately did not respond. The first city took the door in Q2 but the penalties of Carlos Sainz and Kevin Magnussen allow him to leave 10e on the starting grid of the French Grand Prix. The second was eliminated in Q1! Replaced in 14e position (initially 16e), the pilot Alpha Tauri hopes to regain his rhythm from free practice to move up the rankings this Sunday.

The start of the French Grand Prix will be given at 15:00 p.m. this Sunday and will be followed in live text on AUTOhebdo.
