No, it's not a Ferrari or an Red Bull who will take the peloton to the starting grid this Sunday when the lights go out to start the Hungarian Grand Prix. For the first time this season, it's Mercedes , promising took pole position thanks to a sensational George Russell.

Very well on his way to signing his 2e pole position for the season and his career, Carlos Sainz was surprised by George Russell. The only driver who could still improve, the Englishman took everyone by surprise and took 1st place on the grid of the Hungarian Grand Prix by 44 thousandths.

On the starting grid for the Hungarian Grand Prix, George Russell will be ahead of the two Ferrari drivers with Carlos Sainz 2e et Charles Leclerc 3e Charles Leclerc. Behind, it is not the Red Bulls or Lewis Hamilton that we find but well Lando Norris, amazing 4e, followed by the duo Alpine Esteban Ocon-Fernando Alonso.

Annoyed by a blocked DRS during his last attempt in Q3, Lewis Hamilton could only do better than 7e right in front Valtteri Bottas et Daniel Ricciardo. Plagued by technical problems, the championship leader Max Verstappen settled for 10e instead.

Like Max Verstappen, Sergio Pérez will also have to come back this Sunday. In difficulty during qualifying, the Mexican took the door to Q2 with 11e chrono only. Still in difficulty with his AT03, Pierre Gasly has decided to change engine and will thus start from the pit lane. He was initially 19th.
