On another planet in qualifying where he relegated Lewis Hamilton more than 2 tenths, Max Verstappen will lead the peloton this Sunday near Austin for the United States Grand Prix.

On Saturday evening, the Dutchman was the only driver able to run under the 1'33 mark with an incredible lap of 1'32"910. Pole contender, Lewis Hamilton was unable to do anything against the championship leader and consoled himself with 2nd place ahead of Sergio Pérez. Fourth on the checkerboard, Valtteri Bottas will fall 5 places on the grid due to a new engine penalty, the third in the last four Grands Prix.

Thanks to the Finn's sanction, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris et Pierre Gasly gain a place on the grid this Sunday. Present in Q3, Yuki tsunoda remains 10th despite Valtteri Bottas' penalty.

In difficulty with a feverish A521, Esteban Ocon stopped at the gates of Q3 and will start 11th this Sunday ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi, Lance stroll, Nicholas latifi, Kimi Räikkönen, Mick Schumacher et Nikita mazepin.

Sentenced to the back of the grid after having fitted a 4th engine on their car, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and George Russell bring up the rear.
