The first sprint race of the 2025 Formula 1 season will take place this Saturday at 4:00 a.m. (French time) as part of the Chinese Grand Prix with Lewis Hamilton in pole position. The new driver of the Team Ferrari in 1:30.849, just ahead of the four-time reigning world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) of 18 small thousandths.
The second line will be occupied by Oscar piastri (McLaren) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), ahead of George Russell (Mercedes) And a Lando Norris (McLaren) only sixth after missing his braking point for the penultimate corner.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) and Yuki tsunoda (Racing Bulls) will share the fourth row. Alexander albon (Williams) and Lance stroll (Aston Martin) completed the top 10 in qualifying.
Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) will start in 11th position ahead of Oliver Bearman (Haas), Carlos Sainz (Williams) and Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber). The first Frenchman on this Sprint grid, Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) will occupy 15th place, followed by Alpine by Jack Doohan and Pierre GaslyThe Norman will be accompanied on the penultimate line by his former teammate. Esteban Ocon (Haas).
The last line will be occupied by Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber) and Liam Lawson (Red Bull).
This starting grid is currently provisional. It will depend on the outcome of a groundbreaking investigation into Williams, which is accused of not providing onboard footage of the rear wings within the allotted time, i.e., one hour after Free Practice.
