The new Lotus F1 will be absent at Jérez

While Lotus F1 Team has still not confirmed the extension of its contract with Renault Sports F1, enstone has just announced that it will not compete in the Jérez winter tests from January 28 with its new car. “We made very good progress with various homologation tests before Christmas including chassis tests and side and rear impacts. We simply need to complete the tests on the front to complete the homologation of the single-seater”, commented technical director Nick Chester. “We are going to wait a little longer than some teams before presenting our car. »

Lotus F1 Team has clarified that it intends to make its presentation before the second test session in Bahrain which will be held from February 19 to 22. “We decided that participating in the Jérez tests was not ideal for the development and construction of our program”, added James Allison’s replacement. “We should present the car before participating in the Bahrain tests. »
