The resurfaced Hungarian track in question at Pirelli

Just like the route of the Red Bull Ring, scene of the last Austrian Grand Prix, the Hungaroring has had a facelift in 2016, with a resurfaced track that the drivers of the World Championship will face. F1 this week-end.

A new data to integrate for the teams, which could be important, both in terms of the degradation of the rubbers and the performances displayed by the single-seaters, as specified by the Italian manufacturer. « We have seen that in Austria, this had a very significant influence, comments Paul Hembery, boss of Pirelli Motorsport. We have to see if this is also the case in Hungary, so free practice will be very important. »

In dry conditions and with the ultra-soft tires, Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) had immediately broken Spielberg's track record. Pirelli, which also expects improved times in Hungary on a track that is much less bumpy than in previous years, has nominated medium, soft and super-soft tires for this event.

However, another factor could qualify these data, the weather, which according to the latest forecasts for the region, is not scheduled to be very mild, particularly for Friday.
