Race of Champions canceled for 2013

The Race of Champions will not be contested on December 14 and 15 as planned by the organizers. Unsurprisingly, they had to cancel the event for this end of the year due to the high tensions currently shaking the country. With government supporters known as the “Red Shirts” occupying Rajamangala Stadium in numbers, any hope of sustaining the contest was dashed. It would have been very difficult to organize such a meeting in any case given the tensions currently animating Thailand.

Organizers hope to be able to reschedule the Race of Champions to a later date. But they have a very short operating window since the list of drivers is very heterogeneous. A postponement of the event would certainly not have an impact on the entry list.
