The complaint is rejected!

The dispute between the two parties concerns the extractors of the single-seaters of these three incriminated teams, considered illegal because they provide more aerodynamic support thanks to a circumvention of the regulations.

The FIA, which had declared them compliant in the off-season, has finally declared them compliant and has logically rejected the complaint, reaffirming that Brawn GP, Williams et Toyota « se conformaient au règlement technique 2009 ».

The FIA has finally declared these elements entirely valid, affirming that Brawn GP, Williams and Toyota “fully complied with the 2009 technical regulations”.

The hearing was held for six hours in Melbourne, less than three days before the Australian Grand Prix, the first event of the season.

“We are happy with the decision of the race stewards but we prefer not to comment further on the situation,” declared the President of Toyota F1, Tadashi Yamashina, just after learning of the first verdict.

Red Bull, Ferrari, Renault and BMW-Sauber have therefore decided to appeal, the case should be examined by the FIA Court of Appeal between the Malaysian and Chinese Grands Prix, according to a spokesperson for the International Federation.
