Still and always rumors related to the future of Max VerstappenHowever, he is the driver with the longest contract – the duration of which has been publicly revealed – at the moment, since his last extension dating from 2022 takes him until 2028.

This doesn't stop rumors from circulating through the paddock and some from giving their opinions, like Zak Brown. In an exchange with the Telegraph, the boss of McLaren launched into a prediction concerning the future of the four-time world champion. While he was recently quoted on the side ofAston Martin with a huge salary, the Woking chef sees him bouncing back at Mercedes and this from 2026!

« I think he'll leave at the end of the year. Most likely to join Mercedes., Zak Brown confided to our English colleagues. There's also talk of Aston Martin, with the arrival of Adrian Newey, but as great as Adrian is – and he's the greatest of all time – you need a whole team around you. You need a corporate culture. It takes time. If I had to bet, I'd bet on Mercedes, he adds. Over the last ten years, they've won the championship seven or eight times. Last year, they won five races. They're stable. We know that Toto [Wolff] appreciates it. We are all convinced that this team is the best equipped in terms of powertrain as we approach the new engine regulations for next year »

That was all it took for the Verstappen clan to react as is often the case when Max is at the heart of rumors or situations like the booing on the sidelines of the event. F1 in London last February. There was no official statement, but Jos did not hesitate to comment on an Instagram post repeating Zak Brown's statement. He's just trying to stir things up" wrote the pilot's father. A short message that remained published for a long time before being deleted a few hours later. Did he regret it?
