The wheel turns for Vergne at the Monaco GP

Jean-Eric Vergne confirmed his tenth position on the starting grid for the Monaco Grand Prix with an eighth place finish. The Frenchman regains the points after his tenth place at the Malaysian GP which preceded two retirements in Bahrain and Barcelona. The resident of the stable Faenza is delighted to see his streak of bad luck come to an end as his teammate Daniel Ricciardo abandoned. “In a way it was quite a boring race. I never had a clear path in front of me! However, it remains exciting to race in Monaco, especially when it results in points. »

The Toro Rosso driver had even hoped to climb to a better place in the hierarchy, but the French driver failed to gain the advantage over Fernando Alonso who was in difficulty at the wheel of his F138. “Eighth, four more points and an interesting pace, the results are good. After a certain lack of success during a few races, I tell myself that the wheel is turning and that over a season the parts of luck and bad luck are balanced and today everything went well for us. It is certain that our car was very efficient today. I set my best lap of the race at the very beginning, with a lot of fuel on board because the rest of the time I was stuck in the peloton, which was quite frustrating. I am convinced that we were faster than those in front of me. Now I just want to do better in the next races. »
