113

With his first victory in Formula 1 during the São Paulo Grand Prix (Brazil), George Russell became the 113th winner in Formula 1. He is also the 2nd new GP winner this season after Carlos Sainz, at Silverstone. Before them, the last two new winners were the two Frenchmen, Esteban Ocon (Hungary 2021) and Pierre Gasly (Italy 2020).

81

George Russell had to wait until his 81st Grand Prix to win his first race. He is therefore the 12th driver to have waited the longest to win in Formula 1, tied with… Valtteri Bottas, who had also waited for his 81st start to win a Grand Prix, and it was also with Mercedes (Russia 2017).

308

This is the number of British victories in Formula 1. The last white season for the United Kingdom dates back to 2005. Since then, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton were the only two British drivers to sing “God Save The Queen” on a podium. George Russell, winner in São Paulo, was able to make “God Save The King” resonate for the first time in F1 history.

20

George Russell became the 20th Briton to win an F1 Grand Prix. The United Kingdom is still the best nation in F1 history in terms of number of different drivers winning GPs, ahead of the United States and Italy (15), then France (14).

6

George Russell became only the 6th driver to win a Grand Prix with Mercedes in F1. He succeeds Juan Manuel Fangio (8 victories), Stirling Moss (1 victory), Nico Rosberg (23 victories), Lewis Hamilton (82 victories) and Valtteri Bottas (10 victories).

19

George Russell became the 19th youngest driver to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix, at the age of 24 years, 8 months and 29 days, sandwiched between the two Frenchmen, Pierre Gasly (24 years, 6 months and 30 days) and Esteban Ocon (24 years, 10 months and 15 days).

343

This is the number of days between Mercedes' last two victories. The last success of the Silver Arrows dates back to the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with the victory of Lewis Hamilton in a fierce duel against Max Verstappen. It is also the longest wait between two victories since 2013 (1 year, 1 month and 11 days between China 2012 and Monaco 2013).

742

The number of days between Mercedes' last two doubles, which went back to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in 2020 with the victory of Lewis Hamilton ahead of Valtteri Bottas and Daniel Ricciardo.

125

Thanks to George Russell's victory in Brazil, Mercedes scored its 125th victory in F1. With a wins/GP ratio of 46,30%, the German team is the 2nd most successful team in history behind Brawn GP (8 wins in 17 GPs, a ratio of 47,06%).

59

Finally, here is the number of doubles for Mercedes in F1. The Silver Arrows are also second in this ranking, behind Ferrari (85) and in front McLaren (48)
