Lance Stroll: “It’s frustrating to be in the lead and then finish ninth”

Starting from pole, Lance stroll had everything to hope for his first victory in Formula 1. Author of a good start and a good start to the race, the Racing Point driver saw his advantage go up in smoke after his second visit to the pits. He then suffered against the rest of the leading peloton and had difficulty finishing this Grand Prix.

« I don't know what happened. I don't understand, he regretted after the checkered flag. We had a lot of degradation with the first set of intermediate tires. It is for this reason that we decided to stop a second time. I was losing several seconds per lap.

I don't know where this degradation comes from. She arrived suddenly. We have to look at all this because it was catastrophic today (Sunday) ".

First for a good part of the Turkish Grand Prix, Lance Stroll then gave up ground, a lot of ground. He saw the drivers overtake him without any real difficulty, thus falling to ninth position in the standings.

« It's frustrating to be in the lead by ten seconds and then finish ninth. I don't understand how this can happen. I hear the tires were degrading but we need to see the data to understand why I was hit in such a way compared to the other car (that of Sergio Pérez who only needed one save, editor’s note.).”
