Lance Stroll: “The right time to start”

You were a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy before leaving it at the end of last year to enter the fold of Williams F1. Why this choice ?

It was when I signed with Ferrari at the age of 11 that I started to take racing seriously and consider making it a career. The Scuderia did a great job for me until I was 16. I was at a very good school, but Williams gave me the opportunity to get even closer to F1. This team is renowned for regularly giving young drivers a chance…

Are you annoyed to hear that you are mainly a rich driver when you have achieved many successes on the track, and two titles already? So, how did you react to the recent virulent comments made by your compatriot Jacques Villeneuve towards you?

Do you feel ready for F1 next year or is it better to go through the GP2 ladder, where your Prema team is also shining?

With the introduction of the new regulations (see: the file on the new regulations in AUTO n°2080hebdo), I think this would be a good time to start, because everyone will discover it at the same time. In addition, it will further widen the gap between GP2 and F1 which I will have to fill later…
