Around the Sakhir circuit, there were them and the others since the beginning of the weekend. The drivers McLaren were the big favorites for pole position this Saturday, and Oscar piastri held its own by signing a second pole this season after the one obtained in China.
Lando Norris, poleman in Melbourne, on the other hand, completely missed his Q3. The number 4 had an average first lap, which placed him third, but he was unable to improve his time in the second round and was ultimately relegated to 6th place. Norris missed a great opportunity to make a strong impact in the championship, where he is only one point ahead of Max Verstappen.
The four-time world champion is also going through his most difficult weekend since the beginning of the year and is complaining in particular about the brakes on his Red BullFor Lando Norris, all that was left was to deliver the final blow to the Dutchman, but instead, he will start right in front of him on Sunday (start at 17 p.m. French time).
“I've been slow all weekend, to be honest, so it's not really a surprise, the McLaren driver cursed after the session. Honestly, I was way off base. I don't know, I feel like I've never driven a Formula 1 before. I'm having a lot of trouble, I don't know why, and I have to try to find answers."
While Norris claims to have been "slow" all weekend, he actually dominated a large part of the sessions with his teammate Oscar Piastri. McLaren's lead should have allowed them to secure the front row, something Lando Norris admits. “The car is incredible, so I have no complaints. The team is doing a fantastic job, Oscar is on pole with a big lead. I'm grateful to the team, they're doing an incredible job. I'm just disappointed in them.”
With the pace shown by McLaren, Lando Norris can, however, believe in at least a podium finish, or even better, in a race where tire degradation will play a major role.

At least one driver says "I"! It's good to admit your mistakes, you just have to improve in the race to gain positions. But Piastri is fast and generally makes fewer small mistakes, so he's a strong candidate this year...

We feel that Piastri is progressing steadily without making waves, with a cold-blooded animal side endowed with a killer instinct that Norris does not display! The Aussie should triumph in Sahkir, it remains to be seen whether McLaren will be able to secure the one-two with Verstappen behind Norris at the start...

What is unfortunate with Lando is that the GPs have always come one after the other differently for him, like Oscar... who is a serious guy, doesn't party all the time, unlike Lando who has to calm down to get a good mental strength, because that's what is most important for a driver, and Max has more than proven it, his mental strength is steel!!!

Norris won't see Piastri again. Even if he manages to secure second place in a car that struggles to overtake on the straights, he can consider himself lucky. It would still be a good result for the championship, but Piastri could be taking over at McLaren...

Are we not seeing that Oscar Piastri, who functions like the computer Alain Prost, is winning against Lando Norris who, unfortunately for him, is not Ayrton Senna?
