Chameleon Nyck de Vries will he strike again? The Dutch pilot was called to the rescue by McLaren at the end of the day, Thursday November 10 in the paddock of Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Indeed, the British team called on the future holder Alpha Tauri en Formula 1 in order to mold a seat to its dimensions in the cockpit of the McLaren MCL36 ahead of testing for the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix.

This is a precautionary measure, decided due to the food poisoning of Lando Norris upon his arrival in South America earlier this week. The McLaren team is officially reassuring about the health of its driver, who remained confined for safety reasons to his hotel bordering the Interlagos circuit. “We hope to see him back on the circuit tomorrow (Friday),” McLaren’s Twitter account said.

If Nyck de Vries is to temporarily take Lando Norris' place on Friday, it would mean that the champion of Formula E 2020 would see a fourth different team on the sidelines of a Grand Prix this year. In France then in Mexico, Nyck de Vries had worked with Mercedes in free practice, whileAston Martin allowed him to take part in EL1 in Monza (Italy).

It was also in Italy that Nyck de Vries was urgently requisitioned by Williams in order to overcome a Alexander albon victim of an attack of appendicitis before qualifying at Monza. Nyck de Vries took the opportunity to score his first points in F1 on Sunday (9th).

We can even add another training to this list. In the summer of 2022, Alpine had invited him to a private test on the Hungaroring at the time when the brand with the arrow had to find a replacement for 2023 after the almost simultaneous departure of Fernando Alonso et Oscar piastri.
