It was February 2, 1990. Coming from McLaren, Alain Prost joined the famous firm with the Prancing Horse. Having fallen out with the management of the Woking-based team, he had announced his departure for Ferrari the following season in July 1989 and managed to win his third world crown in a heavy atmosphere against a teammate, Ayrton Senna, who had the full support of the structure.
Thirty-five years later, on January 20, 2025, from Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton spent his first day in Maranello. Worn out by too many years in Brackley, feeling the need to reinvent himself, the seven-time world champion had signed for Cavallino Rampante on February 1, 2024, even before his latest opus with the firm with the Star began. Two exceptional champions, the same destination, but is it relevant to pursue the comparison further since the circumstances of their arrival on Italian soil diverge and the Formula 1 of the 90s has little to do with that of 2025? Maybe not at first glance, but on closer inspection, there are immutable themes concerning Ferrari that span the ages.

Impossible comparison, especially since the team is in a better period of its history at the moment, it is something else in opposition to the Scuderia that Prost had known.
