The days are all the same for Liam Lawson in Shanghai. Already eliminated in Q1 in Australia for the first Grand Prix of the season, the New Zealander remained stuck in last place for two days in a row in China. Already a dunce in SQ1 on Friday, the driver Red Bull again set the worst time of the 20 drivers on the grid this Saturday.
Even though he was bothered by Pierre Gasly (Alpine) as he begins his final flying lap, Liam Lawson acknowledges that his failure to qualify for Q2 goes beyond this situation.
« It always makes a difference before starting a lap to be hindered by another car, Lawson testified to Canal +. However, this shouldn't be the factor that prevents me from progressing to Q2. There are so many things I have to look at and I also have to do some self-analysis. »
Lawson also has the merit of not blaming his team: " The team is doing a really good job. I really feel their support. There are things I need to do differently. »
Liam Lawson's performance over these first two weekends of the season is all the more embarrassing given that the two Racing Bulls drivers, Isack Hadjar and Yuki tsunoda, managed to qualify for Q3 in China.
Started 19th in Sprint since Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber) started from the pit lane, Liam Lawson managed to climb back to 14th place. Will he be able to reach the points this Sunday in the main race? The answer will be available from 8:00 a.m. (French time).

If the Kiwi doesn't right the ship, I'm betting he'll be demoted to Ridiculous Bulls when F1 returns to Europe. Tsunhonda will then jump into the RB21 until the end of 2025 to please the Japanese engine manufacturer in view of the end of the partnership.

The gap to Verstappen is abysmal, and he's even getting beaten by the rest of the field... What are they going to do at RBR? Already consider replacing him with Hadjar since they don't want Tsunoda (who would be able to save the 2nd Red Bull), but Hadjar hasn't even shown anything convincing yet... RBR's driver management policy shows the expected result.
