The points scale for the Super License is changing

The World Council of the International Automobile Federation (FIA), organized on Wednesday in Saint Petersburg (Russia), was an opportunity to clean up the Super License system. Compared to the 2018 season, the modifications relate to the series car.

Small reminder, in order to access the Formula 1, it is necessary to obtain 40 points on your license during a period of three years. This amount remains the reward for the top 3 of the Formula 2 as well as the Indy Car winner.

The new FIA Formula 3 International, who will take over GP3 Series in 2019, will grant 30 point to its champion, as much as a title in Formula e or WEC (LM P1 category).

Then, three championships will offer 25 point to their winner: the old Formula 3 europe, renamed Formula European Masters, European Regional Formula 3 as well as Japanese Super Formula (20 pts in 2018). A choice that pleases the Van Amersfoort Racing team, a leading figure in the Formula European Masters.

The new Formula Renault Eurocup will grant 18 units to the winning driver, just like the Formula 3 Regional Asia and Americas and Super GT.

Finally, among the minor changes, let us point out the increase in points for theIMSA and Supercars (18 pts instead of 17 and 15 instead of 13 previously).
