The 2021 calendar with 23 dates confirmed

As announced in the columns of AUTOhebdo then made official by Liberty Media, there will indeed be 23 race weekends next year. This Wednesday, the FIA ratified the calendar for the 2021 season at the World Motor Sport Council.

As usual, the drivers will resume competition in Australia at the traditional Albert Park in Melbourne before heading to Bahrain and then China. The fourth meeting of the season, which was to be Vietnam, remains to be determined.

Spain will then follow (subject to the signing of a new contract with the promoters), Monaco, Azerbaijan, Canada, France, Austria, Great Britain and Hungary before the usual summer break.

The season will resume in Belgium. Back on the menu, the Netherlands will bridge the gap between Spa-Francorchamps and Monza for the Italian Grand Prix before that of Russia, the final one on European soil in 2021.

After Europe comes Asia again where the Singapore and Japanese Grand Prix are planned before the Mexico-United States sequence.

Time in suspense Interlagos will host the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2021 before the discovery of the year: the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The streets of Jeddah will be the scene of the first race of Formula 1 in Saudi lands.

Unsurprisingly, the season will end in Abu Dhabi on the now famous Yas Marina circuit.
