Provisional F1 2020 calendar revealed

Liberty Media unveiled this Thursday the provisional schedule for the 2020 season of Formula 1. For the first time in its history, the traveling circus of the Grands Prix will stop in 22 countries with the arrival of Vietnam and the return of the Netherlands.

The Hanoi round will take place in early April, while Zandvoort will kick off the European season a month later. The Dutch meeting will be followed directly by the Spanish race, which has obtained a one-year discount on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. On the other hand, the absence of Germany is well and truly confirmed.

The French Grand Prix retains its date since its return to the calendar in 2018, namely the last weekend of June (June 26-28).

The promoters of Baku, who wanted to find a date in June to coincide with Euro 2020 football, obtained satisfaction. Azerbaidkan and Canada will be “back-to-back”, with the Montreal round taking place on the same weekend as the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 12-14).

The 2020 campaign will open with the traditional meeting in Melbourne on March 15 and conclude in Abu Dhabi on November 29. This provisional calendar remains subject to approval by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
