F1 2023 calendar takes shape

As we have already reported, the calendar F1 2023 is expected to reach a record 24 races.

The season would thus include the return of the Chinese Grand Prix (depending on how the Middle Kingdom continues to manage the Covid-19 pandemic), but also that of Qatar (absent in 2022 due to the World Cup). Soccer). Without forgetting the arrival of the Las Vegas GP.

On the other hand, South Africa, although anticipated, is not on the program.

As is now tradition, the championship would begin in Bahrain on March 5 and end in Abu Dhabi on November 26, a week after the highly anticipated Las Vegas meeting on Saturday, November 18.

The 2023 campaign would thus begin earlier to avoid taking place during Ramadan, which should begin around March 22. The first two rounds are in fact planned in the Middle East, with Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) due to host F1 on March 19.

It was once again the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola (Italy) which would open the European campaign, but much later than usual. The event would in fact be organized on May 21 to benefit from better weather conditions.

It would be the first stage of an unprecedented Imola-Monaco-Barcelona triplet, with Spain usually preceding the meeting in the Principality.

The previous date of the Emilia-Romagna GP, in April, could be recovered by Baku in order to avoid the much-maligned Azerbaijan/Canada sequence of June.

In this provisional calendar, finally note that the Belgian Grand Prix has been brought forward to July; which could complicate the task of the Belgian promoter.

The very good news is (to date) there is no GP on the weekend of the 24 hours of Le Mans.
