The provisional calendar for the 2013 season

The provisional calendar for the 2013 season F1 was revealed by our colleagues at Autosport, the latter being subject to approval by the FIA which should finalize it at the next FIA World Council held on September 28. The 2013 season should be quite similar to this year with the Australian Grand Prix opening on March 17 and the Brazilian Grand Prix closing on November 24.

The only notable change concerns the New Jersey Grand Prix scheduled for June 16. This American race should replace the Valencia Grand Prix which was likely to leave the calendar following the financial difficulties encountered by the organizers. The races organized in New Jersey, Singapore (September 22) and Korea (October 13) remain on hold until contracts are finalized and/or circuits are ready to host F1. Finally, the German Grand Prix should once again be contested at Hockenheim despite the alternation with the Nürburgring which received the support of Bernie Ecclestone so that it remains on the calendar.
