Difficulties continue in Singapore for Romain Grosjean. The Frenchman was only able to secure 15th position on the Marina Bay grid after making a mistake in Q2. The pilot Haas, who missed a large part of the first day of testing, was again surprised by the improved behavior of his VF16 and ended the session in the tire wall, forcing a postponement of Q3.
“It won't be the first nor the last crash but I'm not in the habit of crashing my car twice in one weekend, commented Romain Grosjean on Canal+. We still don't know what's going on in the car. There car went into a spin when I hadn't even started to turn. I had to exceed the limits to hope to set a correct time. »
Romain Grosjean will now hope that the race will offer him opportunities to break into the top ten, with the Singapore Grand Prix often offering interruptions.
“The behavior of the car can change during the race, in one direction or the other. But it doesn't suit me at the moment.", regretted the Haas driver.
Haas brought the latest developments of the year for the VF16 to Singapore. Romain Grosjean will start just behind his teammate Esteban Gutiérrez.
