Canada back, Spa alternately?

Canada back, Spa alternately?

Bernie Ecclestone seems more and more inclined to listen to the teams of Formula 1 present at the World Championship. The latter have been calling for the return of a Grand Prix to North America for many months. They could win their case as early as 2010. The major financier of the discipline indicated this in an interview with the specialized magazine Motorsport aktuell. “ In 2010, we will return to Canada, I know that everyone in the F1 world loves this Grand Prix. »

This statement, however, does not seem to be in the opinion of the Mayor of Montreal who stated on RDS radio that no agreement had been found for next season and that Ecclestone had still not modified his unacceptable offer. However, there is no question of returning to the Indianapolis circuit as part of a United States Grand Prix. The latter could take place in Las Vegas or New York, although these projects “ are not currently feasible », he continues in comments taken up by AFP.

Then, in order to find a solution after the withdrawal of the Nurburgring which no longer wishes to host a German Grand Prix alternating with Hockenheim, Ecclestone raised the possibility of organizing a Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps every two years!

Finally, if the holding of a GP in India, as Force India director Vijay Mallya would like, is not yet approved, it could be that F1 will find a new destination further east. Ecclestone thus mentioned South Korea as a possible destination.
