All is well at the Hungaroring. Very well indeed, as the Hungarian track's management has expressed great optimism just over three months before the 40th edition of the Hungarian Grand Prix (August 1-3).
As a reminder, the circuit located on the outskirts of the capital Budapest has embarked on a major project, just one week after the last visit of the F1 in 2024. This is primarily focused on the renovation and modernization of the main grandstand on the start-finish straight, but also on the construction of a brand new paddock with new garages in particular.
Since then, no fewer than 1000 people have been working on the site each year to get everything ready for the return of Formula 1 at the beginning of August. And their pace is apparently exceeding expectations, as the Hungaroring directors could put tickets for the new grandstand on sale. from next Monday (March 31) "since the work is progressing" faster than expected » according to announcements from CEO Zsolt Gyulay.
This new main stand located on the start/finish straight includes a roof that has already been built while the workers have completed the prefabricated structure, installed almost all the elements of the staircase and will soon be able to tackle the seats.

The paddock facade ready for the GP, not all the facilities
Regarding the paddock, the entire structure was also completed at the end of February. Cladding is now underway on the basement and first floors, while the last two towers of the original building will be demolished at the end of March.
When Formula 1 arrives this summer, the exterior of the new paddock will appear fully completed, but only the garages and the first floor will be used as planned when construction begins. The press room and control center will be located on a temporary site.

The final phase of renovation will begin after the 2025 edition, before the Hungaroring shows its true new face from 2026.
As a reminder, the Hungarian Grand Prix has a contract until 2032.

Work focused on the renovation and modernization of the main grandstand on the straight, the construction of a brand new paddock with new garages in particular... but unfortunately nothing to make the Hungarian "turnstile" more exciting and spectacular!!
